Hi Gary, thanks for the comments ... Ink Gardens tries to take advantage of the reality of digital conversion, since all my works must be viewed on a digital platform, why not try to exploit that dimension? ... I do this by painting in natural media and then using a phone camera at low-res to record the artwork ... Once I have a digital image, I can marry it to a variety of textured surfaces, and this is what I call "digitally mounting" the painting ... In Ink Garden, the ink was applied to highly saturated sumi paper and the digitized xuan paper mounting added to the overall look, resulting in a slight blurring of the final mixed-media image ... We have been getting a fair share of wet autumn weather, ideal conditions for water-based art :-)
